Survey: Social Media, Body Ideals & Physical Activity: Women 30-50

Participant Information

The purpose of this study is to investigate how women aged 30-50 perceive the influence of social media on body ideals, exercise habits, and physical activity. By highlighting these experiences, the study aims to increase understanding of the relationship between social media content, body perception, and health-related behaviours.

The study is directed towards social media users and will be distributed through the researchers’ platform on TikTok. Data collection will be conducted through a survey from September 15 to 21, 2025. Completing the survey will take no longer than 10 minutes and concerns your experiences and perceptions of exercise habits and body ideals.

Your responses will remain anonymous, and all information will be treated confidentially. The results will be presented both orally to fellow students and in a written assignment as part of the course "Body Norms, Culture, and Doping," which is part of the Sports Science program at the University of Gävle. No individual or workplace will be identifiable. If you wish to access the results, you may request a copy of the assignment by contacting Karin Brattberg at info@karinbrattberg.com.

Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time without providing a reason.
